Our Mission

It's as though something separates you from everyone else. Some barrier that you can’t see but is always there. You watch other people go about their days, connect with each other, and get through life with such ease. Meanwhile, you’re struggling all the time. “What’s wrong with me?” you wonder. “Why is life so unfair?” A deep anger is growing inside you, and you’ve begun resenting all the people who have it so easy. It comes out in unpredictable ways – arguing with coworkers and yelling at your children. You know something needs to change. You can’t struggle like this alone any longer. But you’re not sure where to turn. This is where TraumAnon steps in. TraumAnon is a peer-led 12-step support group focused on sharing healing and creating community for those who have experienced trauma.

If trauma shames and isolates, then recovery must take place in community.

Our Approach

Community is a vital part of human survival, especially for those who have struggled with feeling like an outsider. TraumAnon holds multiple weekly meetings over Zoom and in person to combat that loneliness and provide a safe place to connect. Please check the TraumAnon Facebook page for scheduling details.

Our Team

TraumAnon is a completely peer-led organization with multiple licensed therapists as members. Shawn Witt holds regular training workshops if you are interested in facilitating a meeting.
